Kristen is a USPTR Certified teaching professional with over 15 years of teaching and coaching experience. Kristen has taught at Harvard University’s summer camps, Phillip Exeter’s Tennis Academy, Tripp Lake Camp Maine, Winchester Indoor Lawn & Tennis, Maine Pines Racquet & Fitness, CLC YMCA Damariscotta, ME, and served one year as the Women’s Assistant Tennis Coach at Boston University. Kristen also holds a Masters of Arts in Teaching in Physical Education from the University of South Carolina. She has taught and coached people of all levels ranging from beginner to top Division 1 competitors. Her teaching philosophy is to inspire and maintain a lifelong love of the game by emphasizing many areas – physical, technical, tactical, and mental.
Kristen played #1 singles and #1 doubles for Assumption College. She was the Northeast-10 Conference Player of the Year her junior and senior years. She finished her college career with a 53-5 singles record and a 43-14 doubles record. She was the winner of the Rev. Armand Desautels Memorial Award as the premiere female student-athlete her senior year of college. She has been inducted into the Assumption College Hall of Fame as well as the Northeast-10 Conference Hall of Fame.
Kristen still competes in USTA leagues and tournaments. She has represented New England on national USTA team competitions and has participated in national age group tournaments. She achieved a #9 National Ranking in Women’s 35 and over singles in 2009.
